Bites Nearby: Henry's Pizzeria & Restaurant, East Windsor

For more than five decades, the Mas family has provided outstanding food at economical prices.

For more than 50 years, in East Windsor has been pleasing the palates of hungry visitors from all over north central Connecticut.

Henry and Rosita Mas, both natives of Spain, started the restaurant in 1957, at the same location it currently occupies at 255 South Main St., on Route 5 near the South Windsor town line. Their two sons, Henry and Vincent, took over operation of the business in 1976, and have remained a fixture ever since.

Long-standing family recipes have enabled the food at Henry's to maintain a consistency over the years. From traditional and specialty pizzas, to cold and hot oven grinders, to pasta and chicken entrees, Henry's has a great variety to accomodate the entire family. Many dishes, in fact, can be served family style, ensuring great value for a family's dining dollar in today's tough economy.

The unique flavor of Henry's pizza cheese can be attributed to its unusual blend of five different cheeses: provolone, mozzarella, Romano, parmesan and American. They also have many traditional and gourmet toppings available.

Henry's is open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., and opens at 11:30 a.m. on Fridays. Major credit cards are accepted. For take-out orders, call 860-623-4020.
