A New Bistro Opens at Bradley International Airport

Cask & Barrel Bistro gives airport customers a place to eat before the security checkpoints.

has opened a new restaurant that will be accessible to people before crossing the security area.

Cask & Barrel Bistro, which is adjacent to U.S. Airways ticket counter, serves light fare, beer, wine and soft drinks. The bistro is operated by the Michell Bradley Group.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday.

One of the most frequent comments airport officials have heard from customers had been there are limited food options available before the security checkpoints at Bradley for both travelers as well as “meeter and greeters,” John Wallace, airport spokesman, said.

The bistro’s food menu includes appetizers, salads and paninis as well as a children’s menu. The beverage choices include locally brewed beers, local wines and soft drinks.

There are also five large screen televisions, power strips for charging electric devices, free WiFi. convenient access to security points and a two-minute walk to the airport’s attached garage.

Wallace said the new food concession created 12 new jobs at Bradley.

Cask & Barrel is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Michell Bradley Group also operates the Black Bear Saloon, a McDonald’s Restaurant and a Fresh City Sandwich/Wraps/Salad concession at Bradley.
