Serious Accident On The East Windsor/South Windsor Border

Significant injuries have been reported.

South Windsor emergency personnel and a Life Star helicopter on Saturday evening responded to a serious one-vehicle accident on Abbe Road.

Police said there were three or four occupants of an SUV that drove off the road around 497 Abbe Road near the East Windsor border.

The Hartford Courant has reported that at least two people have been transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Chief of Police Matthew Reed said late Saturday night an accident reconstruction team has been called in to investigate.

South Windsor police, fire and ambulance all responded to the scene, in addition to East Windsor's Broad Brook Fire Department.

According to fire personnel on the scene, police are currently still working and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
