The shelter life is tough on any dog, when all they want is a forever home. But for Gracie, it's especially difficult.

She is the only dog housed by Windsor Locks Animal Control and is need of a family to call her own. Shelter Connecticut posted Gracie's picture on its Facebook page.

Can you help Gracie find a safe and loving home?

Pitbulls are not vicious and can be as loving as any Labrador or golden. It is all in how they are trained. Every dog needs a GOOD home and comments like your only hinder that process.

Thank u Steph !! Has anyone given thought to reaching out to the community and perhaps having someone foster Gracie til she gets her forever home ? It gets her out of the shelter and gives her a nice home til her family finds her.

kelly clark has no clue about what she speaks. pit bulls at one time were nanny dogs, that is a dog that people got to protect their children. they are the most loving, loyal dogs imaginable. due to their strength, locking jaws, and never give up attitude, scum bags realized they could exploit those traits to make them fighters. we are on our second pitbull mix from the locks pound, and could not be happier. she4 is loving, caring, fun, and grateful. is there a pound for stupid people, other than the clark residence ?

Kelly Clark YOU are a DANGEROUS HATEFUL HORRIBLE VISIOUS person making inaccurate UNEDUCATED remarks about an entire breeds that you CLEARLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. YOU SMARTEN UP. Don't preach about things you DON'T KNOW....I have known plenty of pitties who are wonderful loving loyal caring animals......People like YOU are the problem http://www.anticruelty.org/nobull
