Second Annual Gardens, Gallery And Gifts in Broad Brook

Twenty one women artists showcase their talents this weekend.

This weekend’s predicted sunny weather should be the perfect backdrop for a stroll through a scenic garden, checking out paintings, photography, creative containers gardens and more.

Twenty-one women artists will showcase their talents at a two-day show in Broad Brook Saturday and Sunday. Gardens, Gallery and Gifts is the vision of artist Nancy Masters, who knows gallery space is sometimes limited for artists, so she created this show last year.

“It was successful beyond my wildest dreams last year,” she said.

This year there will be more artists involved, as well as gourmet food samples, music and a wine tasting. The show, at 310 and 312 Rye St., is at her garden and barn and her daughter-in-law’s house and gardens.
Donna Masters is a home designer, stager and gourmet cook whose company, Master the Details, will provide food samples for the event. There also will be food from Diane DiBerardino.

The show will include art in many different mediums, including pottery, photography, silk scarves, jewelry, custom-made gift baskets, jewelry boxes, homemade soaps and more.

There will be a teacup raffle to benefit the , a food pantry operated by the . The event itself is free.

Cathy Testa, of Cathy T’s Landscape Design, specializes in container gardens and will showcase her work in the gardens. She is a member of the Visionary Women’s Group that organized the show and is excited about this year’s event.

“What’s special about this event is there is nothing like it of its kind in Broad Brook,” Testa said. “The reaction was good last year, and this year we have many new artists with some really beautiful work.”

People are welcome to stroll the gardens, listen to music by The BACKTRAX Band, who play a mix of oldies, classic rock and country, and soprano soloist Louise Fauteux.

If you want to go: Gardens, Gallery and Gifts will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 310 and 312 Rye St.,  in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor. Follow the signs for parking. There will be an area for handicapped parking as well.
