The East Windsor Veterans Commission and the Daughters of the American Revolution participated in Wreaths Across America on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Wreaths Across America is an annual tradition that grew out of the efforts of Morrill Worcester, of Worcester Wreath. Worcester donated 5,000 Christmas wreaths in 1992 to be laid at the graves of veterans buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

East Windsor Saturday was one of more than 600 locations to participate in the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony this year. It was the fourth time that the East Windsor Veterans Commission has sponsored the event at the East Windsor Veterans Cemetery in the Windsorville section of town.

Participants in the ceremony included members of American Legion Post #40 posting the colors, master of ceremonies Ernie Teixeira, Rev. Tom Caldron blessing the wreaths.
