Patch Picks: Date Night

A few suggestions for that great date with someone special.

This week Patch Picks offers some ideas for a special date night. Whether you are a sports fan, want a relaxing massage or would like to check out an outdoor concert, details are below. Have fun and let us know in the comments your favorite date night spots. 

For the sports fan
If you and your date are hoop fans, head north to the Basketball Hall of Fame. You can have dinner first at Pazzo Ristorante, open Tuesday through Saturday, or Max’s Tavern, open daily, both located at the hall of fame complex. Then check out the history of basketball and the superstars of the sport. Earlier this month, the 2011 inductees included former NBA star and 1992 Dream Team member Chris Mullin and five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman. For the kid in everyone
Check out “Toy Story 3” at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor Friday night. Bring your lawn chair and check out the movie on an outdoor screen. You can grab dinner first at Bellini’s Italian Eatery, Burton’s Grill or Ted’s Montana Grill and then head over to the Rockville Park Archway for the movie, which starts around 8:30 p.m. There will be children’s activities starting at 6:30 p.m.

Plan ahead for a musical
Coming up in September, “Little Women” the musical will be opening at the. Have an Italian dinner at Sam Buca’s across the street before the show. Show dates are Sept. 9-25, with shows Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Outdoor concert under the stars
