East Windsor Senior Citizen's Historical Quilt On Display at Town Hall

After years of sitting in a box in a vault at Town Hall, the East Windsor Senior Citizen's Historical Friendship Quilt is back up in the Town Clerk's office.

The quilt was started in 1976 and finished in April 1977, according to Town Clerk Joanne Slater.

The quilt had laid in storage for years; East Windsor resident Robert Saunders  generously donated a frame on which to hang it and the quilt is now on display.

"It's just beautiful," Slater said. "It was very generous of Bob to do this for us. People will be enjoying this for many years."

Slater said that additional work still needs to be done, including installing a UV plexiglass shield. She said the town is still exploring how much it will cost and where the funds will come from.
