East Windsor Resident Is Lead Performer in Ballet This Weekend

Cassie Rudolph, an East Windsor High School senior, is performing in Connecticut Concert Ballet's spring production.

Cassie Rudolph of East Windsor will perform lead roles in the nonprofit Connecticut Concert Ballet’s spring production, Dynamic Directions. Cassie is a senior at East Windsor High School.

CCB’s spring show presents diverse and exciting performances showcasing classical and contemporary dance including classical ballet, contemporary ballet, modern dance and jazz. Cassie is featured in the original ballet “Postcards from Paris” choreographed by David Lawrence and Wendy Fish-Lawrence.

The piece follows two tourists on a whirlwind tour of Paris and the many sights & characters they meet along the way from Madeline-like Schoolgirls to CanCan Dancers. Cassie appears throughout the piece as one of the tourists on the trip of her life.

Cassie will also be seen in the original ballet “Color Me Wonderful” performing the “Mango Tango” choreographed by David Lawrence and in a Fosse style jazz work choreographed by Christina Shortt called “Hit by a Brick”.  In addition, as a member of CCB’s pre-professional Ensemble, Cassie will also perform in the premiere of the contemporary ballet “Shuffle” choreographed by Wendy Fish-Lawrence.

Also performed in the show is a poignant modern dance piece choreographed by Lorelei Chang called “Storybook”.

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Tolland High School, 1 Eagle Hill Road.

Connecticut Concert Ballet is a semi-professional 501(c)(3) classical ballet school and performing arts organization with studios in Manchester and Windsor, Connecticut and has over 300 students from more than 35 towns in the Greater Hartford, northern and eastern areas of the state. CCB brings fully staged ballet and dance productions to audiences from all over Connecticut twice a year including the Nutcracker in December and Dynamic Directions in May.
