Celebrate the Windsor Locks and East Windsor Libraries on Feb. 2

Take Your Child to the Library Day is this Saturday, what better way to celebrate than to visit the Windsor Locks or Warehouse Point libraries.

While the Windsor Locks and Warehouse Point libraries offer programs and resources for residents of all ages throughout the year, this Saturday, Feb. 2, is a special day as it's Take Your Child to the Library Day (TYCTTLD).

The event was born in Connecticut as "Nadine Lipman, a children's librarian in Waterford, came up with the idea for Take Your Child to the Library Day and selected the first Saturday in February as the annual day of celebration. The idea gained popularity immediately, and librarians started planning special events, programs, and displays," according the the TTCTTLD blog.

Now, the list of participating libraries is growing and now includes 258 libraries in three countries and two Caribbean islands.
