Bentley the Dog Reunites with Windsor Locks Family

When Bentley went missing days before a Windsor Locks family was moving out of state, they were so afraid they wouldn't be reunited, but this story has a happy ending!

Bentley the Shetland sheepdog is back in the arms of owner Beverly Ausbrooks, less than a week before the Windsor Locks family was set to move out of state.

Bentley went missing Sunday, July 6.

"Because of your post, Bentley was found two miles away, hiding under a car," Ausbrooks told Patch.

The owners of the car had tried to get Bentley to come out, but to no avail. When one of the family members told another about the dog, they emailed the article and sure enough, the dog was Bentley.

"He was there all day," Ausbrooks said. "When they called his name, he came out and drank some water."

She drove to the house and called her dog's name.

"He came right out and started hugging me," she said.

As we spoke, Bentley was happily eating. Ausbrooks thanked everyone who shared the article and said she even heard from people as far away as Fairfield.

A big "thank you" to our readers for helping spread the word!
