All Aboard for the Windsor Locks Train Station Rally

Drop by this Saturday to support the Windsor Locks train station restoration effort.

Windsor Locks residents will be joining forces Saturday, Sept. 7 in support of the town's historic train station, according to a user post on Patch.

A photographer will be capturing an image of participants in front of the Main Street station, which will later be sold as part of a fundraiser to restore the building, the post said.

Anyone who wants to be in the photo should wear a white shirt. Parking will be available at town hall, at the Windsor Locks Commons and behind CVS, the post said.

There will be a vendor fair at town hall, as well, which will also benefit the station.

The existing station was built in 1875, according to the Windsor Locks Train Station website. Photos of the station and a detailed history are available on the site.

The event on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
