Windsor Locks students at ING Run For Something Better Day

Students from Windsor Locks Middle School participated in the ING Run for Something Better "Final Mile" event on Tuesday, October 8, at Rentschler Field.  They joined 2,500 other students from around the Greater Hartford area to celebrate crossing the finish line of the final mile in their marathon or half marathon in-school training.  The event, hosted by the Hartford Marathon Foundation and ING, encouraged students to get active and recognized their efforts with a celebratory finish line experience complete with music, announcers and cheering spectators.  Students earned a commemorative finisher's medal, enjoyed the World of Fitness Expo with games, activities and demonstrations and received healthy snacks and an event T-shirt.  More than 7,500 kids have participated and collectively run over 142,000 miles in the ING Run For Something Better Hartford program since it began in 2008.
