Working For Windsor Locks

Letter to the editor: supporting Lynn Mazza, Peter Lambert and Kevin Brace in November 8 election.

Who do I support in the upcoming elections in Windsor Locks? Without hesitation, my votes go to Lynn Mazza for Tax Collector, Peter Lambert for Fire Commissioner and Kevin Brace for Police Commissioner. If you want to see strong leadership, individuals who listen to Windsor Locks residents and people who stand strong for what they believe is in our town’s best interest, then this is the team you can count on.

Lynn Mazza, a Windsor Locks native and local businesswoman, has business proficiency and years of sales and marketing experience. She will make the tax office more customer friendly and establish a highly efficient and effective Department that will save money and improve tax collection measures.

If elected, she will establish Saturday hours during peak tax time to make herself available to town residents with questions and concerns, and provide training sessions for interested taxpayers for the online tax payment system. She will work to establish security features for the system to protect residents’ personal information.

The current system does not have safeguards in place and all residents’ tax information is available for anyone to see.  In this day and age of fraud and identity theft this is one of Ms. Mazza’s top priorities.

Peter Lambert, a long-time Windsor Locks resident, has worked for the Windsor Locks Department of Public Works as the Crew Chief for over 16 years.  Due to his years of working with the Department, he has developed a strong and substantial relationship with the Windsor Locks Fire Department.

Mr. Lambert understands the purpose of public service and working for his community.  He will ensure that the current high standards of our Fire Department will continue to be maintained.

Kevin Brace, also a Windsor Locks native, is a 17-year officer with the Connecticut Department of Corrections. He has established himself as a leader in the areas of policy, advocacy, and communications.

If elected, Mr. Brace will call for the complete review of departmental hiring standards; ensure the Chief of Police answers residents’ concerns promptly; review/update all Department policies and procedures; and pursue State and Federal grant monies for equipment and upgrades so the police officers have the resources to perform their job duties.

On November 8th, I strongly encourage you to vote for Mazza, Lambert and Brace. They are a team committed to Working for Windsor Locks.
