1. It’s Monday, the day after the Super Bowl, a day of infamy for Patriots fans and a day of celebration for Giants fans. It will be sunny with a high temperature of 50 degrees, according to The Weather Channel. Tonight will be clear with a low temperature of 31 degrees.

2. Today is National Lame Duck Day and while the fact there is such a holiday may in itself seem, well, lame, according to NationalWhateverDay.com there is a legitimate reason for the observance.

Lame Duck Day is celebrated on February 6 of each year in remembrance of the Twentieth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The amendment reduced the amount of time between Election Day and the beginning of Presidential, Vice Presidential and Congressional terms. Originally, the terms of the President, the Vice President and the in-coming elected Congress began on March 4, four months after the elections were held.

3. On This Day in: 1788, Massachusetts became the sixth state to ratify the U.S. Constitution; 1933, he 20th Amendment to the Constitution was declared in effect. The amendment moved the start of presidential, vice-presidential and congressional terms from March to January; 1952, Britain's King George VI died. His daughter, Elizabeth II, succeeded him; and 1971, NASA Astronaut Alan B. Shepard used a six-iron that he had brought inside his spacecraft and swung at three golf balls on the surface of the moon.

4. The East Windsor Chamber of Commerce will be having its monthly “What’s 2nd Weds” networking event from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chestnut Point Care Center, 171 Main Street.
